Criss Angel At Sunset Park

Many of you have already seen this video. I met Criss briefly several months ago and frankly I did not know who he was at the time I met him. I have since grown to appreciate his work after watching Mindfreak and now feel that he is by far the best street Magician and Illusionist currently working in Las Vegas, and probably anywhere. This is worth watching for clues, even if you've seen it before, unless you are sure you've figured out how he does it. WARNING: Not for the faint of heart or the squeamish.

I was shocked the first time I saw this video and spent a long time trying to figure out how the illusion was performed. Could Criss be that cruel? I spent many hours walking around the pond at Sunset Park (for exercise), and will never think of the place in the same way.

How did he do that trick? What do you think? Please comment below.

One Explanation Of The Illusion

Criss does not use some sort of magical power, as he himself has stated. This is how it's done, according to LearnStreetMagic.com:

"Anyways, here's the secret to Criss Angel’s trick: the lady was an amputee. Having a hard time believing that? Go google, “Rose Siggins.” The lady on the bottom is a contortionist (bent over, hands on legs). The amputee sits on top of her and the two are held together by straps, clips, magnets or something. Note how the lady is conveniently wearing a black dress that would disguise where the two people join. Of course, some post editing would have concealed anything that might have been flashed.

The amputee is obviously an amputee, as she does an amateur acting job, as well as running (well, arming) away for some reason, rather than seeking help to get re-attached. Plus, how is it that a normal person has that much upper body strength and that smooth movement while arming around with half a body for the first time. Case closed."
