Henderson , Nevada Ranks In Top Twenty Of USA Places To Walk

My 1.5 mile walking path around the bottom links of golf course next to my home in Henderson, Nevada

Good news for my Doctor - ordered exercise program:

According to the latest American Pediatric Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) survey, Henderson, Nevada, was on the 2006 list of best places to live. Henderson ranked highest in people walking for exercise and participating in exercise. ( My theory: it's all those transplanted Californians! )

This is very god news for me. So I'm in the right place at the right time, right? Just have to (excuse me, Nancy Sinatra!) "start walkin'" :)

Addendum:

Inspirational ( for me ) quote from Las Vegas radio personality Delilah (Sunny 106.5 FM) in her 'Dear D' section of her website.

"... Walk. I lost 47 pounds three years ago by walking daily and restricting my carbs. I walked a half mile, then a mile, then three and finally worked up to five. I still love to walk and it keeps my heart strong. Walk and pray and cry. May God cover you with His love and His mercy now and always..."

we should move to Henderson.
I love the park on Silver Springs road/ drive.
I love McDonald Highlands. I love
a lot of stuff in Henderson.

We tried to get a house down there
for a few months, but it was during the peak and you just couldn't get one over there for love nor money.

Walking sounds good though.
I just might have to take one today.
