Jimmy And The Q Celibrate Cinco De Mayo At The El Dorado Casino
Jimmy & The Q
A historic encounter where strings and brass* blend in perfect harmony... There was a definite leaning towards the blues last night, but my personal favorite was a cover of the Bob Dylan song "Knockin' On Heaven's Door".
And, they seem to be having a lot of fun entertaining the crowd. You are sorry you missed their performance, believe me! Pictures don't do them justice. A video is in the works, stay tuned.

* OK music aficionados - my mistake: the saxophone is technically a woodwind instrument, even though it is made of brass! It indeed has a reed!
From Wikipedia:
"The saxophone (colloquially referred to as sax) is a conical-bored instrument of the woodwind family, usually made of brass and played with a single-reed mouthpiece like the clarinet."
and
"The view of most scholars (see organology) is that the term 'brass instrument' should be defined by the way the sound is made, as above, and not by whether the instrument is actually made of brass. Thus, as exceptional cases one finds brass instruments made of wood, like the alphorn, the cornett, and the serpent, while many of woodwind instruments are made of brass, like the saxophone."
Sorry, Tony!

Las Vegas Musicians Tony Q and Jimmy Limo - Can't BeatThis Combo
Jimmy Limo Adds SAXY SOUND to his groove!
The very talented local Vegas guitarist Jimmy Limo and world class sax player Tony Q ( Quintiliani ) have been making what I would call a synergistic quantum leap in some venues around town. I have heard some demos of these two talented musicians playing duet that just knock my socks off. It is a wonderful sound, guitar & sax, proving that the sum can be much greater than the parts. Look for more information about their up and coming duet ventures together here on WHV. If you get a chance to see or hear Jimmy & Tony Q, either solo or together, please don't miss the opportunity!
Meanwhile, check out their web sites:
