Blue Martini Lounge Attracts the Ladies Every Wednesday Night

by Julie Kasperson

I haven’t been to Blue Martini for a while. Since I was on vacation recently, I decided to indulge myself and attend Girls Night Out, which is held every Wednesday after 8:00 p.m. at Blue Martini Lounge, in the Town Square shopping center, near the airport. It’s described as an upscale lounge, live entertainment bar, with a tantalizing tapas menu. Girls Night Out tends to be wild and out of control, due to the fact that there are lots of pretty women, lots of gentlemen eager to meet the women, and half-price drinks for the ladies.

There is usually a mix of live music provided by a band, then a DJ spinning Top 40 pop and dance music. By the time I arrived at the lounge, the party was in full swing, with a DJ spinning the latest dance hits and all three bar areas crowded with patrons sipping on their Blue Martinis or other cocktail of choice.

I decided to try an apple martini. It was delicious. But I can only really handle two of them, because they are strong, and you get about a drink and a half, really, with the martini glass full of your drink, and a martini shaker with another half-drink inside. The signature Blue Martini is fun to drink and popular, with a glow stick stuck inside the glass. I looked around and saw women with many of these glowing tubes strung together to make necklaces or bracelets that they showed off during the night.

Another cool thing that they offer every Wednesday night is a chance to win merchandise. If you look inside any of the local weekly Las Vegas magazines, or check out the Blue Martini website, and click on Las Vegas (the lounge is nationwide), you’ll find out what is being offered on which date. It could be a designer purse, bikinis, Jimmy Choo high heels, or on the night I was there, it was Apple gear: laptops, iPads, iPods, and Apple TV. Every time a female bought a drink, she received a ticket to go into a drawing. The more drinks you have, the better your chances at winning are. Needless to say, my friend from work and I didn’t win anything, but we tried.

Girls Night Out is free for ladies; gentlemen free until 11:00 p.m. After 11:00 p.m. men pay $20 cover. Dress is mostly upscale or business casual. Many tourists go to this lounge, as well as lots of younger Vegas locals. Friendly, although extremely busy, male and female bartenders.

I would agree the drinks served are well worth the price and have you very relaxed. I enjoyed reading your article and look forward to attending Ladies Night Out again.
